Primi frutti de motetti a cinque voci (Venice, 1548) was the first collection of motets by the Italian composer Francesco Portinaro (c. 1520-c. 1577).
Born in Padua, Portinaro worked for important institutions such as the Accademia dei Costanti of Vicenza, the Accademia degli Elevati of Padua or the Accademia Filarmonica of Verona. According to Maria Archetto "Portinaro's clearly constructed, fluid and reserved polyphonic style was praised during his lifetime".
Absterget Deus (SATTB) is the second motet in the Primi frutti de motetti. You can buy this score here. Please consider purchasing our scores for the price you want to support Ars Subtilior Editions!
